We offer a lot of great information here on Pressure Cooking Today—all kinds of recipes, tutorials, tips, reviews, and live cooking videos.

However, despite all this information, we have some readers asking for additional hands-on help.

So, we’re excited to announce our Instant Pot course for beginners.

We’ve sifted through all our information and recipes and streamlined it into a perfect step-by-step learning process that is perfect for beginners.

The course is currently open for enrollment on December 23rd.

Class will start January 10, 2022, to give us some breathing room after the holidays.

Why we created this course…

You’d be amazed at how many emails we get that start with “I am embarrassed that I have had it for years and have never used it!”

Honestly, the biggest surprise from our Instant Pot unboxing survey was how similar the answers were. Even though there were nearly 1500 responses, there were several word-for-word repeats:

  • “I was totally intimidated by it.”
  • “I was scared I’d use it wrong.”
  • “The whole process seemed overwhelming.”
  • “I didn’t have enough time to learn how to use it.”
  • “I wasn’t sure where to start.”
  • “I was afraid of it exploding like the old stovetop models did.”

The anxiety is just so tangible in these words.

And we knew we could help!

a word cloud devised from people who took the Instant Pot survey about why they took time to finish it. Big bold words like "Intimidated" and "fear" and "uncertain" are prominently displayed
We plugged all of our responses into a wordcloud generator, and this is the result.

Will this course help me?

This course is designed for beginning-beginners. We would love to have you join us if:

  • You have an Instant Pot, but you’re feeling overwhelmed or intimidated by it.
  • You’ve never gotten your Instant Pot out of the box or only used it once or twice.
  • You can make like two things in the Instant Pot (hello rice and shredded chicken), but you’ve never tried “more complicated” meals.
  • You want someone to simplify everything for you to help you get quick results.
  • You feel most comfortable being shown how to do something several times.

If you’re already comfortable cooking pot-in-pot, using the sauté feature to brown and finish meals, and using a grill or an air fryer lid to finish your food, you might be more comfortable in a more advanced class.

(Of course, you’re still welcome to take the course, and we bet you’ll still pick up some tips along the way.)

What will the Instant Pot 30-Day Jumpstart Cover?

Let me walk you through the four weeks in the Instant Pot 30-Day Jumpstart.

Week 1: The Three Easiest Recipes

We’ll provide you with a resource library of pressure cooking tips and provide the three easiest dinner recipes for you to start on.

Week 2: Simple Dump-and-Go Meals

We’ll talk about the essentials of layering ingredients and make three meals where you put all the ingredients in the pot and just press start.

Week 3: Master the Sauté Function

We’ll talk about the ins and outs of the sauté feature to help you avoid the burn notice and make three meals where we sauté the veggies and brown meats before cooking

Week 4: Pot-in-Pot & Finishing Methods

Now that you have a good foundation, this is the week where we put it all together. We’ll branch out into pot-in-pot cooking, making a main and a side dish at the same time, finishing with air fryer lids or an oven broiler.

Final Days: Celebrate & Plan Ahead

In our final days, we’ll provide you with a launch pad to keep using the Instant Pot in your everyday routine. We’ll provide you recipe options grouped by time commitment and main ingredients, along with lots of encouragement and resources for moving forward.

Frequently Asked Questions

When will the classes be held?
We know you’re busy and so we designed our weekly lessons in small, pre-recorded bites. (Most clips are under 5 minutes.)

For the live component, each week we’ll have a live Q&A session at a fixed time, and we’ll have a live cooking demo that will change dates and times. Both will be voted on in the group.

All live videos will be available to replay after as well.

I don’t have an Instant Pot—can I still take the class?
For simplicity, we’re using Instant Pot for the button guides and recipe terminology. However, all of the cooking skills we learn in this class will work in any brand of electric pressure cooker.

We just don’t have enough resources to make a button guide for every brand.

I’m vegetarian, vegan, keto, gluten-free, etc. Will this class work for me?
The recipes we share are much like the recipes on our website. Some of our dinner recipes will be vegetarian, but many will have meat.

The individual lessons will all still be helpful to you in your journey, but we can’t guarantee all recipes will accommodate your individual diet.

We would LOVE to have you join us in our Instant Pot 30-Day Jumpstart Course. Click here to be notified when the class goes live!
